Title: Starter Circuit Diode Size Post by: He Man on November 12, 2020, 11:43:00 AM I remove the wire between the starter relay and the main harness for inspection. It turns out that the wire is toast mc-ghost to the point where the copper is coated with a nice black coat of i dont know what. Im guessing this is what happens when the wire gets overloaded from the starter (hence why there is a diode there i suppose).
When i jump the relay the bike cycles like a beaut, but when i hit the starter it replicates a dead/dying battery. I suspect that the signal from ecu is getting jambled by the burnt wire and i could replace it, but i want to get the right diode and replace that as well. Does anyone have that diode spec so I can buy one at .......online...(cause radio shack no longer exists). I know that diodes are marked with stripes and lettering but this one is too corroded to read. Bar on the diode to the R/G, tail of the triangle to the R/Bk wire. Hope that helps. R

Hopefully this brings some life back into the starting circuit! |
