Title: S4 oil leaking ..... again

smell some burning, saw some white smoke
and, again,,.,. it's leaking somewhere in the oil system

UV dye....if your at a total loss for it's origin...think Auto zone has a rental kit

Another method is to thoroughly clean the area, and when dry, spray with aerosol foot powder. The source of the leak will become apparent.

Just a guess, but I'd check the oil filter for tightness.

Also remove the belt cover and look for signs of leaking, after thorough cleaning of course.

If the rubber hose is the one from the air filter box, and it has oil on it, it could be from there. Stuffed crank case breather catch box - blows oil into air filter box instead of it dripping back down into the engine.... and/or damaged piston/-rings which add to the crank case pressure.

Years ago, Ducati changed the hardness of the oil filter seal from medium to hard.  I saw the same filter leak (also my guess BTW) many times until I figured out what was going on.
