Title: Multistrada ohlins forks on s2r1k
Post by: Alexaskmo on January 04, 2021, 11:22:41 PM
Sooo, just got a pair of ohlins forks from a multistrada s 1000ds for super cheap. Now I was thinking of throwing them on my s2r1k. Any thoughts, straight swap or is this going to require a bit of work? :)

/Alex

Have you measured the length?  IIRC, Multi forks are longer...

Yup, longer, and MTS have model specific wheels, probably different disc offset, lots to check.

New wheel/suspension travel will be longer = bike sits higher to allow for the travel / fender & wheel hit the lower triple / suspension must be re-constructed to become shorter.

Ok,

Plan b, what about as compared with the st3, would that make sense? :)

Edit: unclear, I mean would putting the multi ohlins forks on an st3, does that swap make more sense?

Best,
Alex

I think so. I have a pair from an ST4, so if ST3 and ST4 are compatible - so are ST3 and S2R.

No, same problems.
