I'd be hesitant to even give a "probably" range. I'm only three inches taller, and I ride a 59-60cm. It's pretty safe to say that 50cm is too small and 64cm is too big, but other than that, it could be anything.

So you're 6'1...a 58 or 60 is probably about right for you.

I love my Cervelo Prodigy. It's a nice, reliable steel (cro-moly something or other) frame with good components (Ultegra).

My Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel gave up the ghost last Thursday. It may be beyond repair considering i need to have the seat and downtubes replaced and quite possbilby the BB shell too.

Right in time for the team's upcomming Cannondale frame order for 2009. I can get a '09 CAAD 9 for less than a G or a SuperSix full carbon for a little more than 2 G's. Either bike will come with custom team paint jobs. I'd like to have the SuperSix, but I also know that the CADD 9 is more crash worthy. Very important since I'm still a languishing in Cat 4. I can also use the cost difference to get my IF fixed and repainted and stay married.

I would say that calls for a new frame.

If I still rode enough to justify (as in if I still got my fat, lazy ass on my bike at all), I would love to have this:

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Um ... FGR ... I'm gonna go out on a limb and call that bike dead. Good job on it.  [thumbsup] (Maybe IF will replace it for you. Kona replaced mine when I broke the downtube...)

Have fun with the new CAAD.  ;D

That one is really similar to mine, except mine has a Ti top tube.  See:

They got the pictures and declared it dead. They've offered me a killer crash replacement price for a new frame, and I'm gonna take 'em up on it.

Custom steel from the best builder in the US or a Cannondale? It's a no-brainer from me.

(I'm still gonna put a deposit on the CAAD)

No kidding!!  I would take an IF over anything that Cannondale made any day!!  Not sure if I would call IF THE best builder in the US though.

Very nice!

No need to preach to me about Seven.  Here is my current:

Ouch, that sucks. Glad to hear that IF is as nice to deal with as I've heard.

I've been hankering for some nice custom/semicustom steel lately, and the Crown Jewel is on the short list, for sure. Not much out there anymore to be had with a matching steel fork.

Eh, we could argue all day about that.     [laugh]   There are many great bulders, I'm just a homer for IF.  [bacon]

Now i have to go thru the order form and measure myself up. They dont do off the rack sizes anymore like they did when I bought the frame in 1998. Back then they had 2 bikes. The CJ and the Deluxe. That was it!

I think I will go with the std one color paint (corsa red) and put the money saved on custom paint toward the team C-dale frame that will have custom team paint. I'd rather wreck a C-dale than an IF in a cat 4 crit.

I wish I knew how to paint or I'd do it myself and go nuts!
