I just gutted an old hard drive for this purpose alone, looking forward to giving it a go. As a side note, old HDD magnets make great organizers for keys, kitchen knives, etc., you just have to be creative

Never thought of that. I usually just reformat my old drives with a hammer.

Still haven't tried the HDD mag yet but I've been making an effort to park on the center of the induction loop and so far it's worked wonders, barring oil puddles and the like. There's one particular light near my place that's normally pretty argumentative that I've not had a problem with in the last couple of days. Good stuff.

Thanks for posting this.
Hubby and I try to both get into the loop at intersections, but sometimes that's not possible.
Good to know other options!

good find. thanks for posting. Sometimes in areas that aren't busy I just put my kickstand down and walk over to the crosswalk and push the button. When a car pulls up I always get a funny look. Maybe I won't have to do that anymore

Check your local traffic laws. Here in Wisconsin, if you sit at a light for 60 seconds without the light changing, you can drive through the light as long it is safe to do so.
