The rust is real, it's a two part solution - iron filings in an acrylic solution, and ammonia. Rusts like that within a half hour.

The mud is plaster tinted with artist's pigment, then covered in Future floor wax.

Man, I bet it even smells like Stalingrad -- gasoline, sweat, rot, blood & spilled vodka. Though they really wouldn't have spilled vodka if they'd had any. Make that USED vodka...
