We hope that members will pay-it-forward by taking the time to share their experiences by writing up a how-to.  Nothing is too small for a write-up. Here are a couple of tips:

  • Write for all levels of mechanical knowledge.  Remember that some people don't know--for example--what a master cylinder is.

  • Give clear instructions.  If something is an important or critical step, don't stick it in the middle of a paragraph of text.

  • Include lots of pictures.  If you can, more pics is better.  Even if it's the most simple thing and you think everyone will already know it, include a pic.

  • Host pictures somewhere permanent.  Too often we lose all the good pics on a How-To.  Cry

Thanks, gang.   wt:

Can this board use the info (and post it) from the DML? It would be a shame to have to start all over.

people share their knowledge from whatever source they got it and that's fine by me.   Direct links back are not such a good idea.   I'm hoping the original authors post their stuff so it's kept, whether that's by rewriting or copying their original writings.

If someone copies another person's stuff from there they should at the very least give credit to the source ie:  I got this from a post by Joe Smith:  ' blah blah blah blah, etc.'

A little reminder...

This section is for answers...

not questions.

If you don't know how to do it please post your question in acc&mods or tech.

Thanks.
