It is really burning today. 70mph winds and 90 deg. Freeways are closed.

I just flew past that area about an hour ago.. Pretty gnarly looking plume of smoke.  And I spotted another fire off in the distance towards chino hills/corona.

The video and pictures I'm seeing on the news looks like footage from a movie about the end of the world. Scary stuff indeed.

Man, this wind is a pregnant dog to ride in.

And every time it gets windy someone has to go and start a new fire. >:(

We've had some crazy winds over here in Austin the past two days.  Are we getting that all the way over here from CA? 

Thankfully..no fires to go along with!

Nah, we're experiencing our typical "Santa Ana" winds, which blow in from the North East.

Heads up if you're riding in this weather: watch out for tree branches in the road (or hanging from the trees by a thread)!

...and all the potentially slippery leaves blowing around through corners.

Try to get as far as you can from the branches, and slow down a little; a strong gust might send them right into your path.

I drove down the 91 Sunday and it looked like the aftermath of a war. The ground near the freeway on and off ramps was still smoldering. The Santa Ana river bed was nothing but chard trees. We could see a few of the houses that didnt make. It almost didn't seem real.
