DP air filter for S2R -- worth the $$ ??

Stopped by the local dealer today for an oil filter and inquired about the DP hi-perf air filter.  He showed me what looked to be a K&N type mesh filter w/ modified ducting attached to it.  I thought it looked like a nice piece of equipment and asked how much.      $140.00 !!!!!  Yikes.  Sounds like a lot.  Question is, do you guys who have it notice any power and/or mpg gains w/ it.  LMK, Christmas is coming and I want  something more than just some winter riding gloves to keep my paws warm whilst riding in the fog and cold.

Unless you're going to combine it with pipes, I'd spend the money on warmer gloves. I doubt you'd get a lot out of it, other than being able to clean it occasionally instead of replacing it.

Thanks for the replies.  I do have a full exhaust, but seriously doubt any real or "felt" gains are to be had w/ the DP, so based on your guys' opinions I'll skip it for now.
