Hey guys, a few months ago, my old computer crashed, and I robbed the hard drives out of it so I could retrieve a couple of things that didn't get saved when we backed up before it crashed, I had a couple of files that were stored on the desktop and when I hooked up the old hard drives to the new computer, I couldn't find the files that I had on the desktop,  I found all the old pictures and such that were in the my pictures files, but I even tried searching the drives for the file names and no luck, any ideas where those files might be?  I'm kinda retarded too, so laymans terms are best, thanks.

Ducpainter's route should work as well.  You can't access the "physical" desktop from a slave drive but if you go in through the documents and settings folder all the desktop files should be there.  They shouldn't be hidden, but you may have to go to My computer, the tools selection (up in the tool bar), folder options, then the tab that says view.  A couple of check boxes there will enable all hidden files and folders.  That is, if you already haven't found them  ;D.

Cool, found them, they were in documents & settings, If you can imagine, looking through 50 or 60 places to find the desktop, I thought I was out of luck, and there was the documents and settings file like 3rd one down and bam, right there, thanks for all the replies.  You guys rock!
