This is just a little bump in the road for the Yanks.  Give them a little time, they'll be back on track.

As for you Boston fans, let it go.  All this hate isn't good for you.

Frank! You're a Yankees fan? And to think I used to like you!  [laugh]

I think you've got it all wrong man. Have you ever gone to a Sox/Yankees game in Yankee stadium? Talk about hate..... The Yankees fans throw bottles, food, and spit on you if you show up wearing anything that says Red Sox on it.

At least at Fenway all the Sox fans do is antagonize the Yankees fans.

Furthermore, I wouldn't call it hate at least as far as I'm concerned. I'll admit I was jealous of the Yankees for a long time. All they did was win and it got old. But, back then they did it with class and dignity which is more than I can say for them now. I mean come on, what was the point in firing Joe Torre? He is probably one of the best managers the game has ever seen and the make the beast with two backsing Yankees use him as a scapegoat because their front office can't seem to put a team together that can win. That was the biggest example of classless behavior I've seen in recent memory.

I still can't understand why they can't win now. With all the superstar players they have they should win every year. I guess all those big egos can't play well together.

I have no respect for the current Yankees regime. They don't care how much they spend or who they spend it on. That became obvious with Giambi. The guy is a peice of shit right up there with Bonds. I have to include Pettite in that group too which I hate to say because I've always likes/respected him. At least when he got caught he stood up and admitted it.
And remember the bush league A-Rod play in 07 when he stood behind the Blue Jays player and called him off on a fly ball. And what about in 04 during the ALCS when he tried to slap the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove? It's stuff like that that makes me have no respect for them now.
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

Wait a minute! Giambi is nowhere near Bonds in the asshat category.

First...Giambi has admitted to taking steriods...and apologized to the fans. I don't blame him for taking them, as a lot of ML players were at the time. But I applaud him for the apology. He may have danced around the words a bit during his apology press conference a few years ago...but we all knew what he was talking about, and so would have you given the prospect (at the time) of jail time.

Second...Giambi is just a good guy. He was always great to the oakland fans, and was often spotted on his HD at Hegenburger (the local burger joint in Oaktown).  I doubt he tuned into an asshole upon arriving in NY. Although his new haircut there made him look like one!  [laugh]

The only reason Giambi sucks now is because that shit head turned down the A's offer ($120M) to play for the stinkin' Yankees. I truly believe if he would have stayed the A's would have won the Series the next year, as they would have had the big bat they were missing...and the Big 3 were all still kicking ass.

Bonds on the other hand is just a giant douchebag. he still has never admitted to taking 'roids...let alone apologized. He also has always been an asshole to the fans.

Who are these guys? Yeah they might be home grown but if they don't have an impact who cares?

As far as the others the only one who even matter so far is Jeter. The rest haven't won shit. Look a Joba, what a choke artist.

If you are going to tout a bunch of players because they came up in the system at least mention some who matter.

When it comes to home grown talent the Red Sox have the lock on that right now.

Youkilis
Pedroia
Papelbon
Lester
Buchholz
Delcarmen
Masterson
Lowrie
Ellsbury

All these players came up through the Boston system and have contributed to a World Series title.

Wow you dont watch much baseball do you! They may not be Jeter, a-rod, etc...but they are the names of Yankees who came up last year when the Yanks were out of it and ALMOST (I know ) got them in the playoffs I will give Bostom credit, they are the real deal...but 26 time champ is big time!

Agreed but because they haven't won and they don't keep them seems to make it a moot point.

Sure they've won...just not a World Series recently. They have made the playoffs most of the years since Beane has taken over though...which demonstrates the effectiveness of their minor league system. The fact that other teams want their players also shows how effective their minor league program is.

It does suck they can't afford to keep anyone though.  :'(

Sorry but I disagree. Giambi did NOT admit to anything nor did he apologize for taking steroids. He did admit to something but never publicly uttered the word steroid. He did admit to it in Grand Jury testimony.
And yes he did apologize but for what? Again he never said what he was apologizing for, just that he was sorry. In both of these cases i am referring to his press conference.

Actually I do watch a lot of baseball. My point was not that those player are completely anonymous, just that they haven't done anything to help the team win a championship. You can fill your roster with home grown talent but it you don't win championships who cares?

Just curious, where are all the players that came up through the Yankees system over the past 8 years or so? They have all been traded away for aging stars to try and win a WS. Hey, Boston was guilty of it for years as well.
