I was under the impression you could do it with the stock heim joints as long as you leave an amount in the hoop equal to the diameter of the bolt... No?

I'm interested, been dying to do this to my 900 as well.  Do you need to lower the front forks in the tripples as well to compensate?  My forks currently stick up about 1/4" or so.

I cranked up my heim joints alot, I hope its equal to the bolt diameter....Id like to get it up a little more!!  These adaptor look to be the ticket!

Raising the rear will make it turn in quicker. But Monsters are weight biased too far to the rear to begin with so make small adjustments, then try it out. You are correct about how much thread to leave in...at least the diameter of the bolt.
Be aware that your kickstand will mysteriously shrink if you make this adjustment.  Shocked

I bought the 1"+ Cycle Cat kickstand and its disconcertingly vertical when I park it.....figure Ive got plenty of room to raise it....

Wow, those things would definitely raise your rear fast.  If you haven't raised your bike to the max yet, I'd do that before going to those things.
