My S2R 800 turned 20,000 km today [moto]  (that's 12,500 miles)

I've had the bike since March last year. First 2,200 miles as a demo bike in 2007. 9,400 miles by me in 2008 and 940 this year.

I must say my 800 proves to be what many said, a reliable bike - not a fuse gone, bulbs still working - I haven't had a single issue, everything works as it's supposed to. I hope my karma is strong enough to say this.

Ok, I remember - oil pressure sensor replaced.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

That's great, can I share along with you.

Before I sold the 620 recently I turned my 20k's while we were on the road
traveling on the WSBK Philip Island trip.

Congrats, I only have 8000km on my 07 s2r800. Great so far.

You may not be so happy when you get the 20,000KM service bill  [bang]

Not much more to be done at 24'km than on the 12'km - if bearings and cush drive are still ok. About $500 including belts doesn't scare me much [thumbsup]

Wow, that's a great deal. I've been getting quotes from 600 to 1000 for the 12k service.
Since my bike is 2 years old belts will be changed as well.

Old duc mechanic strips the bike down and changes all oils and checks all bearings.
Services the front fork and rear shock as well. A little overkill if you ask me.
