Design even looks pretty stretched in places.

I am a fan of natural finishes, but would rather paint over real CF to appear cheaper than I amâ€"not the other way around.

a good example is the DP CF tail cover for the 696/1100

I can't open the video at work. Is it the same as this? http://www.trackwraps.com/  They have a carbon fiber finish and it's pretty cheap.

this is a cool process, here is an example of what people from the south do with it [laugh]. what's cool are the possibilities for interesting finishes. they spray a base coat which alters how the hydro dip will look. ie red carbon fiber, pink camo. and come on man, they have camo dead animal skulls, that's just great [thumbsup]

as far as i can tell... this is not the same as the product/process BellisMoto had a thread about.

The stuff that OP posted looks like crap in real life and in photos.  i forgot what the process is called but its like water something.

I cant say for sure... but it looks like the stuff BellisMoto has uses real CF while this process uses something similar to a decal.

i confess, i didnt pay much attention to randalls thread...

is this the same process that he wanted folks to pay him to send their bits to japan to have done?

Nope - the process in Randalls thread involves real CF fibers being wrapped around the parts, as opposed to this printing process.

Dang.. I was just trying up the same thing!

This process is done with paint, too. Albeit a different result.  Here's a link to page showing how to get a swirly paint job.  Pretty good looking on a guitar, anyway...  http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/swirled.htm
