I bought my 07 S2R1000 used in September. It has lowered footpegs and raised bars, so the previous owner must have been a tall guy like me (I'm 6'4"). I loved it, cared for it, and generally smiled pretty much all the time.
Last week someone hit it while it was parked on the street and sent her down on the right side, destroying the mirror and popping off the footpeg. Luckily the cover prevented any serious scratching. New bar end mirrors have been ordered and the footpeg screw was located and the footped was re-attached rather easily. Or so I thought. I brought the bike home today and the footpeg was loose. I grabbed the allen wrench, tightened the screw, and felt the threads give way. Ahhh...that is how it popped off. The screw that holds the footpeg to the lowering bracket sheered most of the threads off of the bracket.
I could really use some help in now determining who makes the lowering bracket for the footpegs on my bike so I can go about replacing it.
Here is the left side one that is good:
And here is the broken side:
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
