Ok Ive been away from the scene for a min or two and Ive forgotten everything since I owned my carby 900.
This brings me today... Owner of a 06 S2R 800.
Im running open udder and plan to cut the airbox...
After the poor man mods will the bike need to go to a shop to get adjustments? (this is what i want to avoid because i dont trust the local shop boys)

Sorry for the newb type question but im a carb fan and the dang fangled FI gives me fits thinking about it.
I work on them flyin' machines... I use the word "work" loosely

Don't know for certain, but I think you'll need a Power Commander or other fuel enriching device if you open it up more than the udder.

Ohhh, yeah you're probably going to have some problems.  Folks have had mixed results just running the udder.  The mix usually leans towards poor running.

Opening the air box will allow in more air (duh) - but it might allow in more than the stock ecu can adjust for.  The result is the bike will run lean.  In most cases, an after market doohicky like a PowerCommander is needed to add fuel to the mix.  To properly do this, you need dyno time.  Though some places like FBF sell kits that have and open air lid, high flow filter, slip-ons and a pre-tuned PowerCommander.  That would allow for out of the box operation w/o a trip to the dyno.  THough dyno work would generate a custom map better suited to your bike...

Combine the udder only and high flow air box, and you might be looking at some real hassles are crappy running.
