WTB Cheap Small Disk Mirrors (in the NW)
«
on:
March 04, 2009, 06:18:27 PM »
Hello,
I'm looking for some disk mirrors. CRG lane splitter style, but cheap.
I am a student, strapped for cash, so its hard to justify the cosmetic parts. But I really want them...
Maybe the Motrax mirrors? I would be open to others.
Not looking to spend much over 40.
I'm in Tacoma, WA and would travel to pick up, but would also be willing to pay for some shipping as well.

Hey there, you're gonna want to move this to the Parts Wanted section.
Also, you may want to post up in the local NW section as not all the local people cruise the parts section.
I have these:
But I'm not sure if they'll fit your bike.

No worries hon. I'll check and see if they're Motrax. Gimme a couple days.
I'd recommend what everyone else is saying though. Cycle gear or ebay have some great deals on off brand mirrors.
If you feel like making the trek down here, you're welcome to try them out and then decide if you like them. I haven't even put them on my bike yet.

Have you tried them out yet?
I'm wondering if they work alright or if they are just to make the bike legal.

I guess He Man doesn't like them much. Wonder why that is.
Size? Vibration?
I also am a head checker, but I like to have the backup, mostly for spotting cops to be honest.

Too small. you can see 1 car tahts close enough to be seen in the corner of your eye as you look at the mirror. Or 1 reflection of a headlight which is really annoying. I ride in NYC so i might be bias. looking at your mirrors could possibly get you killed cause a taxi just cut 4 lanes to pick up a fare. i had them on my stock magura bars then on tommaselli clip ons, and now on my cycle cat clip ons.
My favorite was the Napolean barend mirrors. Nice large and rectangular ,so you can see a few lanes worth of stuff.
REctangular is the way to go when picking a mirror. rizoma makes some really nice blingy ones that work, but $$$!

Well, I just ordered some from D2moto.com for $30 or so. I actually have a pair of napoleans right now. They work really well, but they just don't look good. I'm usually a function over form kind of guy, but when the bike is so pretty to begin with, you just can't mess with it.
We'll see how they work.
Thanks for all the input everyone
