I'm ashamed to admit that I can still access the old site. You can hear the crickets!

I haven't read this entire thread, so I may be repeating someone else...

I was a member of TOB, read posts about the VS aquisition and was bummed. Saw a post here and there linking to this new board, joined and have been pleased with its growth and quality.

I think the transition and the DMF is somthing we should all be proud of. It shows brotherhood, determination (by those who actually did the nuts 'n' bolts work to get it going) and a bit of the "stick it to the man" attitude !

Those qualities have been associated with motorcycles and motorcyclists for decades.

A well deserved pat on the back to us all..............

I'm surprised so many of you haven't seen El Matadors masterpiece until now.

As one of the original members of the DML (before the board it was a email list) I have witnessed its birth and death.
The original Micapeak e-mail list is still around.  There isn't a lot of traffic on it, but there are 10-15 regular posters there and quite a few more who occasionally have something to say.  I was about #10 or 11 to sign on to the old forum.  I'm sure I posted something during the first month of this list, the DMF, about what it was like "in the olden days".  I still occasionally wonder if Daffe still rides or gave it up completely.

I often think back and wonder how a few of the old members are doing. I remember the first time I was called "Daffe like" and not understanding what it ment.

Okay, now you made me track down my earlier post where all of that was explained: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=1033.0
