On the chain maintenance question, if I recall the new o-ring type chains actually require the wax type. On those type of chains, putting a penetrating type oil on them does nothing. the wax type oils are for lubrication between the sprockets and the chain. The no-fling is so the lube stays on an achieves this. I believe the recommended cleaning and relube is every 400 miles(a bit overboard). The only reason I would follow this is because you hate a dirty chain and have nothing better too do.
