I went by the dealership a week before the year warranty was up and they said they would contact Ducati and get back to me.  They called me back about 5 weeks later and said I need to bring the motorcycle in because Ducati wanted to see pictures. I road it over there today.
I figured they were going to say I cracked it by accidentally kicking it when I got on/off the bike, so I was surprised that first thing he asked was if I installed the blinkers. When I answered yes he said that they probably won't cover it. He also said that they won't like that I modified the DP short tail kit by cutting off the extra metal that goes out past the license plate.
I took a look at the blinker and it has a metal "L" bracket that goes from the mounting hole in the plastic to a screw under the seat that keeps it firmly mounted. I think the bracket was putting pressure on the plastic and eventually cracked it.

So if anyone out there has the DP Blinkers and DP Short Tail Kit, you may want to make sure the bracket is not pushing too hard against the plastic. I don't know, but maybe the bracket isn't necessary.

Sorry to see your fender broke! But just FYI, but Ducati Performance parts have a 2 year warranty when installed by a Ducati dealer.

Sorry about your short tail. When I installed the part on my bike, I tried it with both the bracket and just the lights to the fender.  I could not get a snug fit with the blinkers without the bracket, plastic is flimsy!  The bracket allows you to fit the blinker correctly.  Also, I believe I adverted the problem you had.  I noticed after riding that the blinker was sticking out, bulging from the fender.  I loosen up the bolts, refit the brackets and tightened the blinkers.  I am sure it was an install error on my part as I am not a Ducati mechanic and finished the initial install at 3:00 in the morning with no patience remaining.  Angry

Still no word from Ducati. Maybe I'll stop by there this weekend.

Unfortunately I installed these myself.  Embarrassed

does that stuff work on plastic?

donnykidd, glad you fixed yours. I messed with mine for awhile trying to get it to sit better, then said eff it after a few minutes and a couple tries. I never thought about it again, until I talked to the Ducati mechanic. Maybe I can make a new bracket that's too short so it will pull it in, and the crack won't be so noticeable.

I've used JB Weld many times on several types of plastic and it has always worked extremely well for me.

Try JB,if you have the time..
