Okay we went riding today and on the way home the bike started bogging down like too much gas was getting into the throttle bodies, plus a STRONG gas smell from the exhaust.  If i really reved it, it was okay.  its a 2001 900ie, any clues, and please dont say ECU.

Sounds like something not firing to me.  It is difficult to get so much gas into a FI vehicle that it will bogg like you are describing.  I am not saying it can't happen just unlikely.  I would check to fire at both cylinders first and make sure both have good spark.

I'll go pull the plugs now and check it out.

Well I took the plugs out and cleaned them up and checked the all the connections and it seems that one of the coil wires was not making good contact.
Made sure both plugs were firing okay.  Started it up and it seems okay, but with D&D's and it being 10:45 I will have to wait until morning to ensure.  But thanks!

Hope that does it for you.  Those coil wires do like to fall off at times.  I lost a cylinder on the 750 I used to have that way.  Took me 2 hours to find it lol.

even though a spark plug is firing, if its old, it will misfire and sometimes that can cause the fuel smell, but it would be accompanied with  rough rnning so replace them if they are old.
