What a buncha idiots!

My thoughts exactly.

If they really wanted a pic of AF-1 flying low over NYC with an F-16 escort, couldn't they just have shot pics of the planes low over some Air Force range, and had IZ photoshop that into a pic of the city?
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

So what was the point of this "photo shoot?"

Boeing making new marketing material to sell more Air Force 1's?

I am sure it was very cheap to fly those planes around NYC for a morning

It's always cheap when it's not your money...

Sarcastic response: It's the governments way of showing that they really don't care about how the taxpayers money is spent and that they encourage the type of behavior that has sunk the auto industry.

Legit thoughts: I honestly believe it was a reactionary test of how people would react to a simulated (and unexpected) attack. Flying AF-1 was the perfect cover since it's whereabouts have to be kept top secret at all times regardless of the President's presence or not. So under the cover of a Top Secret stamp, no one was publicly informed beforehand and could have been brought up on federal charges if they had let anyone know (law enforcement supposedly knew in advance).

And the reaction of the guy on CNN quoted as saying that this was an act of Felony Stupidity has drawn the attention away from this being a reactionary test on the city of New York. The public will only focus on the stupidity of the obvious while the real reason slips by under the cloak of a photo shoot gone wrong thanks to a buerocratic error in judgment.

it was a test..... a test to see if people are really stupid enough to buy their excuse.

Exactly.

Just like when AF1 and some reporters made a trip to Columbus to attend the graduation of the Police Candidates that only got to continue to hiring because of some stimulus money kept the program going.

I wonder how much it cost the city and the government for that one day trip

makes me sick to think about it.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks all the negative response has been entirely too overblown.

probably.   If you were in the NY or DC area for 911 and saw an airliner with military jets low in the sky you'd get the make the beast with two backs out of whatever building you were in asap too.   Pretty predictable reaction.

As to the thread, lets keep the politics out of this shall we?   conspiracy theories can be discussed all over the rest of the net.
