Just a reminder...

A guy I had grown up with and taught me how to ride dirtbikes passed away on Saturday when he lost control of his Harley.  He was leaving a festival with a group of about 12, going around a turn and lost control and hit a tree.  He was 55 and had been riding since he was a teenager, BUT he unfortunately was not wearing a HELMET, which probably would have saved his life.  It's still unknown to everyone what happened and how he lost control since he was the only one in the group that did.  Just a reminder to  wear your helmets, and stay with us a little longer.  You can't expect the unexpected.  He left behind a wife, 4 kids, 1 step-daughter, 7 grand kids, and both of his daughters were pregnant. Rest in peace David, you will be sorely missed by me and everyone else.

I never really did like the term "lost control." It feels so impersonal and PC to me.

Best wishes to the family.

I hear ya man... he was in the middle of the group and somehow was the only one who "lost control."  None of the others could really say what he did wrong.  His first mistake for sure was not wearing a helmet.  I know most of everyone on here probably doesn't go to the store or up the street w/o a helmet on, but just a reminder that you can't expect the unexpected.
