a few things i've noticed rather quickly...

1. the ohlins makes a HUGE difference. bumps on 93 north leaving boston used to be a huge pain to ride on the 800 - the 1098 just sucks em right up.
2. tap the throttle 1st and the wheel is right up in the air. it took a lot more - i practically had to hammer it on the 800 to lift it a little ( no - i do not fly around boston doing wheelies - not by any stretch - just something iv'e noticed.)
3. holy s*** i cannot get over how fast and fun this bike is...

I put some Helibars on my 848 and it made a huge difference.
