Do desire some slip ons in the future, presume the cat converter comes off with my stock cans.
What effect does the cat have on sound quality - love the no-baffled sound of the MIVV ovals:

I see PJ's has an option for midpipe with cat if needed.
Might be an issue for state inspection, might keep my stock cans handy.
Only the single O2 sensor, does cat contribute to drivability, as it were?

The cat will definitely muffle the sound and you probably won't pass emissions testing without it. Keep your original setup for testing. The slip-ons will not replace the cat as it's not located in the cans. You need to replace your mid-pipe if you want to rid yourself of the cat.

I just put on some high mount Arrows (no baffles) on my 620 2 weeks ago.

Had no problems and no backfiring whatsoever. [thumbsup]

However, no expection here in Ohio so couldn't tell you about the inspection stuff.

Dramatically changed the appreance of the bike.  I can't believe how much better it looks and sounds. [evil]

The bike is a 620, the cats are in the cans.
