I'd like to take the opportunity to publicly display my ineptitude with tools.....how the hell do you get the front fairing off??

You can't get anything on the inside to hold the nuts still....and I'm not moving the dials!!!!
This place feels nice. Black S4RS, CRG Barend mirrors, vented clutch cover, gold clutch plate, gold pazzo racing levers, full 50m termi system, little carbon extras....oh yeah ...almost forgot....ban corporate coffee!

Your gonna have to drop the headlight and go in through there  (at least, that is how I used to do it).  Then just hold it with a wrench while you untighten the bolt.  Just make sure to watch it if the nut falls because it is amazing where small parts like that go when they hit the ground.  And to make life simple, mark your headlight so that realignment will be easy.  Good luck.

You can it's just tight.  I remove mine without dropping the headlight or the gauges.  You squeeze the wrench in first, then move it into place, and finally just hold one finger on it while you loosen the bolts.

I am going to have to add, "Why didn't you f**king post first" to my patented, "Why didn't you read the f**king directions" phrase.  I can't tell you how many times I have, what could have been, needlessly, taken my headlight off.

Just wait jasaretta, you will say it too.  Wait till you get brave and take a dremel tool to a brand new $300 piece of carbon fiber.  Your journey is just beginning my friend.  So, how do you like your bike without the fairing?

The assumption you are making is that I have managed to get it off!!!

My 800 had no fairing and I liked that. I think it will look good. We'll see.

Dremel - carbon fibre - yeah done that. Heart attack material!

Ok guys - I took the front fairing off. And hated it. So I put it back on.

Next tail chop - which I know I will like because I did it to my last monster and net indicators.

When I first took my fairing off.  I went back and forth for about three weeks on the looks.  I finally broke down and put a Carbon Fly Screen on.  It replaced the fairing and headlight mounts.  I like it much better in terms of looks.  Not near the wind protection though.
