probably a waste unless you are audiophile or videophile (is there such a word even)

Their A/V quality is on par with comparable $3 cables. The lifetime warranty is a nice touch, but how often do cables go bad?

I first heard of this company years ago at a guitar center. They sold "lifetime guaranteed guitar cables." I never bought them because mine usually got lost/stolen before they stopped working.

I mailed back S-Video cable back to Monster after using it for about 4 years and they promptly mailed me a new one.  I must have been nuts at the time to spend that much on stupid cable and component cable.
