reassembling headlight bucket?

I took my headlight completely apart in hopes of getting the chrome ring powdercoated.  That's not going to happen soon so I'm trying to reassemble.

Is there some trick to it?  Do the wires that hold the ring to the reflector have to be in some magic mathematical arrangement?  I can't get it to seat back together and I'm about to throw the make the beast with two backsing thing across the make the beast with two backsing garage.

There should be plenty of room for all that stuff inside. Somethimes when you try to put the lense and ring back into place it feels like something is hitting the back i.e. it wants to spring forward a bit. You just have to push it down and tighten the screw and it sould be good.

I took out all but three of the wire spring things and was able to get it back together.  I'll mess with it again when I have more patience.
