Im looking at an 07 950 SM with 8k miles.  I know some of you guys have experience with KTM, and I would appreciate any info you can share on possible issues, maintenance or anything you can think of.  I'm searching around some of the KTM boards as well but the DMF seems to have a huge amount of collective knowledge of all things motorbike related.  Thanks.

That's my bike, but I have the R version.  Not much difference other than orange frame, blacked out swing arm and brakes, and a smaller fuel tank.

07 is the right year.  KTM addressed all the issues people will bring up when they hear you say KTM (water pump, clutch slave issues)

ADVrider.com is where it's at.  Look in the "Road Warrier" section of the forum and find the "950 Supermoto chronicles" thread started by WPBarlow.  It's about 140 pages and is 950SM owners only.

You've probably found a $7500 bike there, maybe less if you're a smooth talker ;D

Mine's been a ton of fun.  It's what I always wanted my monster to be back when I rode an M900.

Plan on upgrading the seat.

There are a couple SM owners on ADV that are close to 20K miles with no major issues.  Garry rides his all over the place and loves the thing.

Here's a link to the 950sm uber thread  http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153375

Good luck!  You'll love this bike.

I did it. It was bittersweet to let go of the monster, but I really love the 950SM

Here's the monster after I'd put back all the stock parts I could, and just before our last spirited ride  :'(

I'll miss that bike, but I definitely don't regret it.  The SM is a blast!  :D It does everything I wished my monster could do except look sexy (and I think it actually looks pretty badass in its own right) I put around 70 miles on it last night after I picked it up.

Congrats!

Looks like yours came with a Superduke fender, some sliders and what looks like a bag mounting rack setup in the back.

Nice [thumbsup]

It did, its got racks for side bags and a top case.  I think the bags for it were sold separately, although it did come with a tank bag.  It also has a Renazco Racing seat on it, and a few little orange billet pieces (reservoir caps, frame plugs, valve stem caps).  I noticed the fender when I was there on Saturday.  I bought it from a KTM/Honda/Yamaha dealer and as I was talking to their KTM "specialist" in the service dept I asked him if the fender came off a superduke.  I thought all the SM's had the high fender up under the triple. He said "Nope, thats the stock fender".  I didn't argue, but it certainly seems like he should know that.
