Stuff to do in St. Catharines, Ontario?

I'll be spending a week in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada at a conference.

I think I'll have a few afternoons off, can anyone suggest things to do (besides see Niagara Falls)?

What are the good local beers from that area?

If you're into wine at all, it is well worth the trip to Niagara on the Lake.  It is just a short drive (~30min) away from St. Catherine's. 

Two of my favorite vinyards are Jackson-Triggs and Hillebrand.  Peller and Innskillen are also worth checking out.
