Got back from Korea a couple weeks ago. America is weird, after you've been gone a while...

Beautiful bike man!!  I need to get me one of these at some point.

America is weird, after you've been gone a while...

And yes it is.  It has taken me almost a month to get used to being back.  Strange thing is, I almost find myself wishing I was back in Afghanistan from time to time...   Undecided

Great looking bike.

I'm gone a lot for long periods and when I get back I look around at my old projects and obsessions with no interest at all. I think it's at least partly because usually when we're in another country be it for war or a job, we're there for a definite and clear purpose and life correspondingly has more purpose.

Coming back here, where the focus seems to be to a great extent on comfort and well, self-centeredness, things seem so meaningless.  For awhile, then after about a month I find myself back to my old habits.

Where in Korea were you?

I was in Daejeon, teaching at one of their many (fine?) hagwons.
