I have never oiled my K&N pod filters on the M1000SS.  I assume that the normal foam air filter oil I have kickin' around the garage will work just fine for pod filters.  Can someone confirm?

Don't know what "normal foam airfilter oil" is, but I can tell you Briggs & Stratton recommends motor oil. Soak the foam filter, then squeeze out all you can. The oil traps the dirt, not the foam. Almost forgot. You're supposed to wash the filter first.

Foam ones are well. made of foam.

the K&Ns use a fabric like cotton.

Im not sure if the ones for foam will work the same way for cotton filters.
