Pissing off my friends

I went riding around town (atlanta) yesterday to go watch the redbull soap box derby. Got there too late, so my japanese sportbike riding friends and I kept riding around.

Throughout the day, 4 different random people said "Is that your monster?!?!? Its really cool, is it the fastest of your group?"

"Nope, but it looks the best"  ;D

The compliments pissed my friends off, haha! "Gah its so slow, why do people like it so much" and "You are out picking up guys with your sweet monster"


Just thought I'd share.  [thumbsup]

That is one of the perks to having a sweet bike.

People forget that the main reason to ride (on the road) isn't to go super fast, but to enjoy the ride.

Having a bona fide crotch rocket may be nice for the drag strip. 

Most fun I've had is on a sub-500 cc bike.

I would have said "Yes, it is the fastest ... by a lot. But I'm a humble guy and I don't want them to feel bad, so I keep my prowess on the low-low. "

i dont know those jap sport bikes can be pretty fun. Its like emotionless sex. Its great.

In town I always have more fun on the monster, good low speed handling, light wieght, can keep up with jap bikes just fine at city speeds.

I used to ride around on a bright yellow GS500F with my then-boyfriend on his heavily modded Aprilia RSVR.

I always got way more attention than him - I'm a girl, and my bike is yellow! [cheeky]

Used to really piss him off. [evil]

Hell, I am constantly amazed that ANY car sees me when dusty & I ride.

That red ponytail is gonna be the death of me.
