I would get rid of it and buy a S2R  [wine]
Nah...just kidding....you are into the new ones...thats fine
So if they pay you the money minus the salvage, why do you care about the salvage ?
Let them slaughter it and get something you can ride and be save.
I would never get a totalled bike or even try to ride it again.
Not without a 5 year experience in motomechanics at least.
I am pretty sure your local DucDealer can help you with that and find a nice 1100 for you.

Have you tried an 1100 Raux?

i think you all are right.

i saved my comfort tour seat and have the DP aluminum front fender coming. both fit on the 1100. everything else doesn't.

i will try to go next week. i need to find out if the local german shop can order a stateside spec one though.

Well the frickin appraiser hates Italian bikes  [bang]
valued my bike 1300 euro lower than the lowest priced used 696 available on the internet anywhere in germany!
Bet if it was a BMW it would have been higher.
Basically i end up owing the bank too much, and to even be able to sell it to salvage i have to pay the balance...
ANYWAY.
looks like if I can't convince the insurance company to fix this guy's appraisal value, i'll be keeping the bike and either rebuilding or parting out. I'll have to keep paying on the loan, but once i rebuild it and finish paying it off the balance after the insurance settlement to the bank... i'll have a free and clear bike... but no bulk cash upfront to rebuild... so it will be a long process.
anyone got front end parts for the cause :-\

Can you dispute the valuation and take it to arbitration?
2013 BMW R1200R
2008 BMW K1200GT (Traded)
2007 Ducati Monster 695 (Sold)

Were you able to get anywhere with the appraisal?

the bike is home.

starting taking her apart. have it hanging by a wooden beam in the garage.

even once the insurance company figure this out, i'm gonna keep her and rebuild.

i am starting a parts wanted thread
