I have a 04 S4 and the engine ate the rod bearing.
So I have located a 996 motor to swap in.
Anyone done this?
Anything I need to know?
Thanx

^^ what he said.  Makes a big difference which bike the 996 engine came out of.  Different swingarm supports, throttle bodies, and a few other things too.

should go straight in.  you could fit another ecu (st4s or s4r i guess) or add pc3 or go old scholl and just bump the fuel rpessure to 3.5 bar for an extra 8%.

it'd really like some st4 headers too.
