酒後吐真言

« on: August 25, 2009, 12:23:17 AM »

Me and the new Mrs brimo arrived home last night and got straight back in to work today, a nice relaxing trip with plenty of scootering around, funny how getting back on to the aussie roads even after only two weeks was kind of daunting.
Good too, to get back on a bike that goes stops and turns, without you having to think about it 10 seconds before.
You do feel quite safe on those "third world" roads. Looking at it from the outside it seems like chaos, but when you're in the middle of it, it seems to work. No-one hogs the right hand lane, all the drivers seem to know who and what is around them, they know how to merge, hey, even a friendly toot of the horn is considered okay and not a reason to give someone the finger.
Maybe it should be a required part of drivers ed to send people to indonesia/thailand, vietnam to ride around on a scooter for a couple of weeks, waddya reckon?

Yes it is amazing how well traffic merges on Asian roads  waytogo
[moto]  riders pull out from side roads and just melt into the maelstrom kind of like downhill skiing ,where it is the responsibility of the uphill person to avoid the collision .
And a tap on the horn is just to tell everyone you are there instead of an invitation to step out side and prepare for a bloody nose.
