The Bridgestones were funny - sides of the front tyre were trashed but the centre was fine but for the rear the centre was shagged.....

I'm thinking it may be because I like to come into a corner fast(ish) and then get the bike upright before I give it full throttle on the exit. I don;t mind a bit of slipping when I am leaning over but not too much...

Yeah Rusty, my old Bridgestones did exactly the same as yours, at least when you look at the front you can say that you actually got your moneys worth out of them.

At this stage I would say I would prefer Bridgestone as they dropped into the corners a little bit easier, Pilots have'nt been run in anger... yet, so I will have to wait until the weather is a little warmer before I will throw them right over to see how they feel.

Dunlops...... would'nt piss on them

I went for a ride up the Old Rd and did a good run on our 'private' bit of road - These Michelins are really good. I felt more comfortable and never felt like they were going to let go at any point. They felt really stable at speed and great in the corners!

I never thought of mixing them up. Recently put on Pilot Road 2's back and front. New tyres make a big improvement to my cornering confidence. For some reason I like the way the Michelins feel in corners.

Been bit by the mix scenario. 
The lesser tyre on the back if you have to do it is the best way to go, but peeling into a corner in a spirited ride and having the front stick nicely and having the back let go aint a pleasant experience. 
Down like a sack of shit, bitter personal experience.
I have mixed 'em up for track use but stick to matched sets for road. Only recently on the way to work I came banging into a fave largish roundabout and felt the front end twitch and saw the stain on the road just as the backend "lit up"
But it stayed nice and progressive and slid nicely until I straightened up on the exit, I know its supposition but if I'd had a lower spec tyre maybe things might have ended up differently.
Shiny side up is always good, and I like the insurance of the better rubber.  [moto]

i have to agree with dragon, not picking sides just that were i ride theres allways gravel stones road kill or the famous crusher dust where a log truck has split there fuel tank also the dreaded campervan cutting corners so for me i need a lot of conferdence in my tyres, bazz
