Out of curiosity:

a few years ago, they shot the Real World in Denver.

They always went to this district with a shit ton of bars with patios, eateries, etc.

Is that 16th St area?

That house is located at 19th St. and Market St., in the LODO (Lower Downtown) area.  That area kind of connects Coors Field with the 16th St Mall and the rest of Downtown.  Falling Rock Tap House that I mentioned earlier is one block over from that house, which is now a bar/restaurant.

Is this 16th St Mall really a mall or just an outdoor type area that is a mall, but with bars, restaurants, etc?

It's a pedestrian mall, although a shuttle bus does provide free service on the street.

Bars, Restaurants, shops, hotels, and even high rise residential exist on the Mall now.

and I am sure the housing isn't "cheap" either

There are still at least two low income buildings within a couple blocks of the mall.

By Manhattan/San Francisco standards, bargins abound.  ;D
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

This is a new tower 2 blocks from the Mall.  http://www.spiredenver.com/  I used their configurator and built a 1,300 sf 2-bedroom place with garage and storage space for $420K.
