Haven't felt like posting this yet, but here goes.  Last week = worst week of my life to date, I am sure I will have others in the future since I am only 35...

Wednesday of last week - say goodbye to a friend after his motorcycle accident on Saturday

Thursday of last week - find out my best friend from school, who is 1 year younger, has lung & liver cancer

It makes me appreciate my situation and loved ones, and maybe not whine about little things for a while.

You'll find the older you get ...the tougher it gets.

i.e. Loose Mom to Cancer, then loose Dad to Cancer.

Hope you get over your hurts better than I did.

So sorry to hear, Mitt -- it does sound like you're dealing with it in the best way possible, by holding the ones who are still here even closer to your heart.

Visited my friend and his family on Sunday.  They are in good spirits and ready to fight.  The hospital doesn't know what type of cancer it is and where it originally came from.  Even the Mayo Clinic couldn't determine it.

They are choosing 2 types of cancer it might be, and starting chemo today, so everyone is happy for that.

He is an amazing person, deputy fire chief at age 34 for a large volunteer department, and was just offered a full time fire fighter job with a large adjacent city, but he turned it down because he lived 8 miles away from their boundary and didn't want to move.  In retrospect, it is lucky he did, since his illness would have been a big problem as a fireman.
