So i'm thinking of visiting a friend in Dearborn, MI on my Ducati today. If I do go, I'll have to leave my Duc outside all night outside the hotel. For those who LIVE IN DETROIT (I don't want smart ass responses from people from anywhere else), just how bad is it in Dearborn, should i take the Duc or no. I live in Kalamazoo

thanks

I moved out of Detroit in '99 so this opinion is old...

But, Dearborn can be nice.  Most areas are nice and others...uh...not so much.

What I've done in the past is to specifically ask for a room on the first floor away from the front of the building.  Then, I just pull the bike inside the room at night.  One time I lucked out and got a double bed room with only a single bed in it.

YMMV but if it were me, I'd ask your friend about the neighborhood that the hotel is in and see what he/she thinks.

I was in Dearborn two weeks ago. It's still a nice area, but is only 15 minutes by shady panel van from the seedy part of the metro area. I would guess your bike will be fine, but YMMV. If you're worried, call the hotel and discuss your concerns/options. You may be able to lock the bike to a light post in the lot.
