Hi there,

My tail light is not working, however brakes lights are working properly. I checked the tail light wire to see if it was loose, but it seems normal.
Any advice on how to handle the problem given that I am a complete newbie?!

Thanks

mojo

Is the bulb dark? Or can you see that one of the filaments are broken in the bulb?  If either is yes, then you probably have a bad bulb.  The definitive way of checking would be with a multimeter.

Hi Mojo,

Thanks for your reply. The bulb seems fine, it is transparent, and filament are good. It is the same bulb for the brakes light, and it works. I am guessing it is an electrical problem, which means I probably need to go to the shop

If you have another bulb, you could plug that one in to check.  Also check to see if your contacts are corroded or if they are making contact with the bulb.  If you have a multimeter or a test light, check to see if there is power going out of the plug.  If everything checks out, you could have a bad ground, which is something Ducati's seem to have a problem with.

One bulb, but two filaments, one running, one brake.  Looking is not good enough.  Follow mojo's advice.
