If you hosed off the gauge cluster or the big connector I'd try drying it out with a hair dryer or compressed air.

Must have swam in.  Work on getting that instrument cluster dried out before corrosion sets in and find out how the water and fly got in.

JDucati

bike has been drying since 3 pm today... it is now 10:15 pm.  still nothing.  I press start and there is absolutely no sound or anything.

I got lights though lol

Any more suggestions would be appreciated

Hair drier on low heat, like ducpainter said.  If you disassemble it it will dry quicker and you can get the fly out.

ducatiz

if you are really crafty, make a small air blower with a flexible tube and shove it in somewhere to pump fresh air in .. the fly will appreciate it and it will dry faster too.

Ditto on what has already been posted. As for the NAINT being displayed, that is Ducati's lazy attempt at "Maint". If it wasn't displayed before all this it will most likely go away when things are dried out. If not, hold down the left button on the dash while you turn the key on and hold it til the gauges finish sweeping + a few secs, then let go and turn the key off. This will reset the indicator AND the mileage interval for it to come on again...

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example!

Its running again.  It was the gauge cluster... got it all dried out and now its working great.

Note to self:  Do not hose down gauge cluster.

Thanks for the tip on resetting the maint message

Thank you all for the support.  Ben apprezzato...
