When did your MAINT light go on?

Passed 6,300 miles on my '04 M1000S and no light yet- what's up with that?
'04 M1000Sie, DP ECU, K&N air filter, DP Termignoni exhaust, C. F. belt, sprocket covers and heel guards, RG Racing sliders, Zero Gravity smoked screen, Evo license relocator, Sargent seat re-up, Koso mirrors, NEP throttle lock, C.A. clear front signal lens, 14T sprocket, G2 Throttle Tamer (300 cam)

I think it trips at 500 miles past scheduled intervals..

Got a lot of conflicting info on this- seems like I'll be returning to get it reset after my valve adjust; unless I could reset it myself???

On the 848 they had to pull fairings and plug something in. I swear it took an hour.
Confused rider who doesn't know what he is even riding at the moment. (2012 URAL GearUp, 2012 Ninja 250 Racer, 1969 CB175 Racer)

On my S4R you simply hold the mileage button down and turn the key to start the bike - keep holding the button down for 5 seconds I believe and then turn ignition off.  That's what the local mechanic did here.
Can we thin the gene pool?

Didn't work for my s4r,oh well...have 24k kms on it and the maint light is still on,goes off after a few minutes of riding.
