Rizoma grip cable gear issues

I've installed the Rizoma Sportline grips onto a new Rizoma handlebar, and here's the problem I'm experiencing:  The throttle tube does snap closed, but if I apply a little pressure as I lean on the grip it pushes forward a little more and sorta sticks.  It is as though the gear isn't closing 100%.

I have a feeling that it is because the outside edge by where the cable locks into the gear extends outward and comes into contact with the cover that goes over and aligns the cable.  Has anyone experienced this?  If this is the correct diagnosis would the fix be to just file the edge down a bit?

Also, should I use any sort of adhesive to secure the grip to the gear?

Thanks

there's another thread on this exact issue.. the plastic throttle cam i guess just kinda "breaks in" like that...
mine does it too, lots of people have the same issue.. i've adapted to it, not that big of a deal.. rarely do i try to roll my throttle past the point when it's completely closed...

on a side note, i've found these grips to be a bit uncomfortable, and am considering ditching them...

didn't like that it wouldn't close on its own, and they were uncomfortable, so i ditched 'em.
