Isn't that the same info from the "manufacturer's statement of origin" paper work. DNA should be able to give you that if you can talk them into it.
Good luck,

Spidey: I thought I was free and clear at 7500 as well. I just double checked everything on the DMV website pertaining to the emissions reqiirement and it applies only to NEW vehicles, those defined by DMV to have less than 7500 miles. There is even a stand-alone brochure which simplifies everything required to register an out of state vehicle and there clearly stated is the "NEW vehicle with less than 7500 mile" issue. Per your suggestion, I have printed everything on their site pertaining to this issue.
Thanks for the input guys!!!!
I would also take with you the provision that says that motorcycles are not required to go through annual smog checks. Because, for example, while a not-"new" vehicle in CA is defined as one with more than 7500 miles, cars are still required to have smog checks before they're registered. Not so for motorcycles.
Good luck. If the guy at the DMV keeps giving you grief, try a different DMV office. It'll make a world of difference. Again, good luck.

Just went through registering a nevada bike, the DMV inspector didn't even look for the CA emissions sticker. I even went back and asked about it and she didn't care if it had it or not...
You can try another DMV, you should be good to go with the +7500 miles, i understood it the same way.

I just registered my out of state Monster a few weeks ago. As with all my vehicles (3 from out of state), I used AAA. No lines, and they seem to be a lot more flexible when it comes to filling in the required data for DMV. If all else fails try them you might be surprised.

So I walk into the DMV this morning, with my letter from Ducati and all the pertinent pages printed from their website...
I hand the registration paperwork to the person behind the counter and I'm ready to start defending my lack of sticker. She peruses the paperwork for a few moments, then hands me my new California plates. I said "That's it, were done?". She answers "yes". I then tell her about the emission sticker I was told I was missing. She then tells me that I was not missing an emissions sticker, it was a secondary VIN sticker, but since the CHP cleared the bike, I didnt need it and I should have myself a good day. I said "I think I will, thank you". I swear, they like to twobacksbeast with you because they can.

Why the need to shoot yourself in the foot? Did you not want your plates?

Glad it worked out. It's all about DMV-shopping or even going back the same day to the same DMV and talking to a different clerk.
