In Luckenbach October 23 and 24. Who wants to go?  I may go out there Friday and camp out or just make it a Saturday thing. Not  sure yet.

I missed it last year, I will not be missing it this year. Pretty sure I won't go out Friday and stay, but will probably be in what I hope is the good sized group heading out from Austin.

I'm sure Greg will be chiming in here soon.  It would be cool if we had a big DMF group.

I believe that weekend is free, so looks like we might be able to get a group ride together  waytogo

OK guys - if you needed a little extra incentive to go to the Harvest Classic, I would like to direct your attention to this

http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatinorthamerica/events/detail.jhtml?eventId=25061

The Ducati Hyper Truck will be there - woohoo - there are not too many details on the site but I am assuming that this means Hypermotard test rides?

There's a fair chance that some of us from Dallas will be there, and/or in and around austin that weekend.  PM me if anyone is interested in hooking up.

I'm planning on attending this year.  I'm going to ride to Round Rock Friday and visit with an old friend + spend the night in that area.  Then over to Luckenbach early on Saturday.  I'll spend the night in Fredericksburg before riding back to Dallas Sunday mid day.
I'll be on the lookout for others.

Just picked this info up from another forum.

Here's an update from the organizer:

Subject: Harvest Classic - It's Time To Rally
Date: Oct 6, 2009 9:50 PM

Hi Everybody,

We are about 3 weeks out from the 2009 Harvest Classic Rally, which will be held in lovely Luckenbach Texas on October 23 & 24. If you haven't pre-registered already, it's not to late! Just go to <www.harvestclassic.org> , and click on the link that says 'Register Online NOW'. Online registration ends on Oct 16, so don't put it off any longer. Remember, online registrants get a complimentary t-shirt for each registrant.

We have a ton of cool stuff planned for this year's rally. In addition to all the usual favorites such as the bike-only camping meadow, bike show, bike-in movie, kickass barbecue, and trials competition, there are a few extra special things that I want to tell you about.

Longtime rally friend and sponsor Val Asensio of RIDE TEXAS magazine is auctioning off her Ducati 748 on eBay. All proceeds from this auction will be donated to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation via the Harvest Classic. Please check out eBay auction # 280403626037 at <http://tinyurl.com/yaghvun> . Bid high and bid strong- you could be the winner of this uber-cool bike, and help out a really important charity to boot!

But wait, there's more. Rally Hall-of-Famer and Platinum sponsor Mike Pawlowski has really pulled out all the stops this year. I have taken an oath of secrecy to not disclose the full awesomeness of his donation, but I can tell you that his neighbors have been complaining about the smell of eastern European castor bean oil, and that this year's raffle bike is guaranteed to shock and awe. In the past, Mike has generously donated cash gifts, a restored Vespa, a restored Yamaha Twin Scrambler, but this year threatens to top them all. Buy lots of raffle tickets this year, because the winners going to be very happy.

Ducati North America will be offering demo rides on their 2009 lineup. I have ridden the Streetfighter, and it re-calibrated my awesome meter, which now goes to 11. Don't miss this opportunity to look at, drool upon, and ride the latest offerings from Bologna.

The Iron City Soul Shakers will be playing the outdoor stage during Saturday afternoon. This band was recommended by Scabby, one of our rally crew, and according to him, they channel James Brown, Ike & Tina, and the Rolling Stones for divine inspiration. Good times!

That's about all for now, and we hope to see you in Luckenbach.

Regards,
Russell Duke

You can register at the event, but no tee shirt and BBQ is iffy depending upon how many register late.

Wow this event was great! So much so, that I'm already looking forward to next years
Most bike events are heavily geared to one section of biking, such as the Harley crowd, or the sport bike crowd etc etc, but this event seemed to have the whole spectrum of bikes covered.

Lots of Ducatis, Moto Guzzis, BMWs, Nortons, Triumphs, Enfields, Bultacos, Montessas. Some even rode in on some cool old two stroke machines, like the Yamaha RD250's and a beautiful old Kawasaki 750 triple. More than a few old Hondas like the CB750 and the 400/4. Everywhere you looked it seemed as though you'd say, "WOW - havn't seen one of those in years!"

There was a Trials riding event there, along with a trials riding demonstration, and of course the highlight being the 2 Ducati Semi's filled with Demo bikes. I test rode the Hypermotard and Ducaholic rode the 848. If we had got there sooner we could probably have ridden a lot more of the bikes.
