did a price drop to $7995, Jay Leno gives his thumbs up. This might be my next addition to the stable.

QuoteBrammo claims the Enertia has a range of 40 to 50 miles (64â€"80 km) between charges if power is set to the minimum level, 40%.

When it gets down to $4k or less then I might think more about it. Until then I don't care as there's no value to it.

$8k is a lot to spend on an around-town scooter. I know, they call it an electric motorcycle. Seriously, though, it has a max speed of around 65mph and has a max distance of about 42mi on the lowest setting. That won't even get me from one end of Angel's Crest Highway to the other (assuming it wasn't burned out from recent fires).

The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

Seems priced about right when you consider this for $2800:

well a couple of things. first the 65 is there only due to gearing for a longer range. you can hit triple digits with gearing changes, but your range is nothing. the second is the battery packs. as they upgrade the range will go up and subsequently you can change your gearing accordingly. yes it's a single gear, but it makes torque from nothing to high rpm.

honestly if i didn't live so far from work, this would be a cool city commuter. nothing about the planet, just fun, quiet, easy to handle, and no gas station fillups, setup a deal with the office for a plug in the parking garage... and no worries.

Adding a stereo system and speakers to make fake motorcycle noises would really cut down on battery life.

This would be the key - recharging it at work.  It only takes 3 hours to recharge an Enertia - you'd be fully fueled even if you bailed out of work early on a nice day.   8)  ;)

Unless some asshat unplugged it.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Well, asshats can 'accidentally' tip over gasoline-powered bikes when they sit on 'em in the parking ramp.

It's very difficult to anticipate asshat behavior.
