will an 05 s2r 800 headlight bucket and pigtail fit on an 08 695?

Should. As far as I know, all monsters pre 696 can swap off headlights. Older ones have a glass lens and steel bucket - newer plastic bucket and lens. But dimensions and connectors should be same same.

You can use a BMW replacement lens for much less. Check the alternatives to OEM parts in Tech and look for my post on headlights.
