Innovate LM2

I bought a PC3 a couple years ago and I've been messing around with the tune.  I would like to do a proper tune but am having a hard time paying for it, being that if I decide to do more engine mods I have to pony up again.

So my question is, has anyone done their one tuning with a wideband O2?  Specifically has anyone used the Innovate LM2?  I can justify the cost of the LM2 because it's not a one shot deal.

I'd also be interested in hearing from others about this.  I have the equipment for simultaneous two-cylinder measurement, but I have not yet taken the plunge.  It looks like a big investment of time and energy for a first-timer, and time is something I never have enough of!

Unfortunately the pic links are now broken, but the following post was/is a really great documentation of something similar on an Aprilia twin, which would share some issues with our bikes:

Give it a read!

Havn't used it on a duc yet but I have some car experiance.  Plan on spending a large amount of time figguring out what works best for part throttle driveability, tuning for full throttle power is the easy part.  If you are just looking for a one time PC tune it will be easier and cheaper to find a shop with a dyno and have them dial it in.

does the new autotune work with the PC III

No.  Autotune only works with the PC V's.

I did some reading and the LogWorks software that you get with the LM2 can spit out a table of AFR with respect to rpm and throttle position.  This the makes the data processing very simple.  I'm still on the fence because of all the issues people have had with this unit.

i am looking at doing the same thing.
Are you saying people are having issues with the LM2? Is it the single or Dual Wideband or both?

The PCV only works on the new generation monster.....i spoke directly with the PowerCommander folks about this. No plans to bring autotune to the Older fuellies.

My plan is to purchase a Innovate 3807 LM2(dual wideband) so i can capture both cylinders under identical conditions. It seems that while the single WideBand is cheaper, the data captured will be difficult to dial in with two separate instances of Similar conditions.
I don't really have $600 to drop on an LM2 so i am looking at splitting the cost with someone local, since it isn't something i need every day, probably once a year.

here is another thread i found about this:

I had a buddy with connections to Innovate hook me up with some gear back when they were first getting off the ground.  I've only bench tested it and I have not tried to tune with it (owned it for a few years now!).  I followed their boards on and off for quite a while.  My take is that it's a solid product with many happy customers and decent support.  Long after my warranty was up I bricked my LM1 during a firmware update and they replaced it promptly.  The Innovate stuff is very sophisticated with lots of capability.  You need to like to tinker and "invest the time" to make this stuff work for you.  Some installations are seemingly confounded by ground loop offsets.  The 2nd generation LM2 had lots of teething pains with the new OBDII features and I think that pissed off many folks.  At some point Innovate stopped providing tech support on their boards and people with problems just went there to complain and vent, so you'll see a lot of that there.  I think the biggest issue is that it's marketed to the average consumer as something easy to setup and use, but in fact it takes some dedication to pull it all together.  The 2-sensor LM2 should work great for you (I have the LM1 + LC1 + LMA3 + digital gauge).  That's my two cents, fwiw.
