Look what I did...

(it actually sits right under the gauges, even thought it looks like its up high)

(with the gps removed)

Im really happy with the way my idea came out. I used a garmin nuvi 1300 with ram mounts and an extra power cable. So while finishing  my valve service I ran a power cable up to the handlebars, and installed a handlebar mount for the garmin.

The nice feature of the ram mount is its twist lock, so when your off the bike its a quick removal and you can put the whole thing in your pocket and all that is left on the bike is a small plastic piece. The install took about 5 mins and the mount only cost 20 bucks.

What, no DVD player?

Looks very cool.
How well is that mounting clasp gonna hold the GPS over pot holes, RR tracks, etc?

Be careful not to get to distracted by it.

Thats the problem, I was thinking what happens if i get into trouble and have to call for help. 90% of the time I have no idea were I am. My normal plan of action when im lost is head east till I find water then go from there. Plus having the MPH is nice as well.

The mount is super sturdy, barely moves at all even on hard bumps.

Thanks Adrenilin.
I have a "Rider" and didn't know you could get that ram mount, so I'll look into it.
Was going to make a bracket on the bars in the same spot to accept the factory slide mount..
Cheers.
